Our cats often develop these diseases at an advanced age, such as chronic kidney disease (CKD) or hyperthyroidism. Other diseases are usually inherited, such as HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy).

Of course, unhealthy eating and drinking habits or environmental issues, and the life our domesticated cats live with us humans, contribute to some of these diseases as well.
